Good Engineering Practices (GEP)
Good Engineering Practices (GEP) ensure that the engineering and/or software development methodologies used to generate deliverables (design, construction, and operations documents) support Commissioning, Qualification, and Validation (CQV) requirements for facilities and the equipment units therein.
- Plan – define business objectives, user requirements, system boundaries, and the processes that govern deliverables.
- Design & Construct – execute processes for deliverables then build systems in accordance with requirements/deliverables.
- Validate – review and test the functionality of each system, document the results of the test, and store system deliverables.
- Operate & Maintain – develop and implement procedures for standard operation and preventative maintenance.
- Retire – determine criteria and method for replacing systems.
